J. Howard Shannon is a retired US Army Infantry and Intelligence officer with over 26 years in the military. He served two tours in Afghanistan – the first in 2005 with 3rd Group Special Forces and again in 2008 with the New York Army National Guard. Shannon is the author of the short stories “The Jump,” “Red Flowers”, “The Dirge,”  “Convoy Operations,” and others. He calls Galisteo, New Mexico home where he runs a small online radio station and podcast called Radio Free Galisteo.
